Avoid unnecessary stress
www.helpguide.org

There is no way in the world to avoid stress.  It is a part of your everyday life, it is what keeps you going and helps you to meet deadlines and get those unwanted tasks done.  However there are many things that add unnecessary stress to your life that can be eliminated. Here’s how you can avoid unnecessary stress in your life.

Just say “no” – Spreading yourself too thin is a definite recipe for stress.  Know what your limits are and refuse to accept added responsibilities when you’re close to reaching your limit.

Avoid people who stress you out – If there is someone in your life who consistently causes you stress, limit the amount of time you spend with that person or if you can, avoid them completely.

Take control of your environment – If the news makes you anxious, turn the TV off or don’t read the newspaper. If traffic’s got you tense, take a longer but less-traveled route. If going to the market is an unpleasant chore, do your grocery shopping online.

Avoid hot topics – If discussing certain things like religion or politics often upsets you, simply don’t discuss it.  If you continuously argue about the same subject with the same people, stop bringing it up or excuse yourself when it’s the topic of discussion.

Cut down your to-do list
– Analyze your schedule, responsibilities, and daily tasks. If you’ve got too much on your plate, re-do your list in order of priority.  Put those tasks that aren’t really necessary to the bottom of the list or if possible eliminate them entirely.

Remember a little stress is good but too much can make you sick.  The more unnecessary stress you can get rid of, the healthier you will be both physically and mentally.
